DU Deputy Registrar Lavlu Granted Bail in Attack on Khaleda Zia's Convoy

Judge Md. Wahiduzzaman of the 17th Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge's Court issued the order on Sunday. Lavlu Molla, a former president of DU's Masterda Surja Sen Hall unit of Chhatra League, was arrested as a suspected accused in this case.

The incident dates back to April 22, 2015, when Khaleda Zia's convoy was attacked in the Banglamotor area while campaigning for the Dhaka North City Corporation elections. A case was subsequently filed with Shahbagh Police Station in November 2024 regarding the vandalism and assault. Lavlu Molla was handed over to the police by students on November 17 last year following a controversial social media post related to a war crimes tribunal verdict.
