Allegations of Extortion Against Dhaka College JCD Followers After Seizing Pickup Van
According to reports, a pickup van (Dhaka Metro-N 14-7017) was detained on Monday night (January 26). The driver, Enamul Haque, alleged that the accused broke the vehicle's side mirror while it was parked in New Market. When he protested, he was reportedly assaulted, and the vehicle was forcibly taken inside the campus. The van was allegedly released on Tuesday night after a payment of 15,000 BDT.
Driver Enamul Haque stated that he recognized Shamim, Sakib, and Asif among those who seized the vehicle. He claimed that an initial offer of 10,000 BDT was rejected, and the vehicle was only released after 15,000 BDT was paid. However, the vehicle owner, Imon, refused to pursue the matter further, calling it a "mutual understanding" among brothers to avoid further trouble.
Denying the allegations, Khairul Islam Khokon stated that he has been in Narsingdi for the past 15 days on election duties. He claimed to have no knowledge of the incident and suggested that others might be using his name for such activities.
