MP Candidate From Gaibandha Falling Victim to 'Ogyan Party'; Found Unconscious in Rangpur

According to police sources, Azizur Rahman’s nomination had initially been canceled by the Returning Officer, but he successfully regained his candidacy through an appeal to the Election Commission in Dhaka. While returning home on a bus from Dhaka, he was drugged near Sirajganj by gang members who tricked him into eating a tainted egg. The criminals then robbed him of his cash and mobile phone before dumping him in Rangpur.

Ataur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge of Tajhat Police Station, confirmed that locals spotted the unconscious candidate and alerted the authorities. He is currently under police care for recovery and further questioning. Although he won his legal battle at the Election Commission, this unfortunate incident on his way home has sparked concern among his supporters and locals.
