According to the 24-hour outlook starting from 9:00 AM on Saturday, April 25, 2026, a seasonal low-pressure extension stretches from West Bengal to the North Bay of Bengal. Under its influence, moderate to very heavy rainfall is expected in many areas of the Rangpur, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions. Additionally, isolated places in Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram divisions may experience temporary gusty or squally winds accompanied by lightning and thundershowers.

Alongside the rain forecast, the Met office delivered concerning news regarding a mild heatwave affecting 21 districts. The BMD stated that a mild heatwave is currently sweeping over the districts of Dhaka, Madaripur, Gopalganj, Rajshahi, Pabna, Sirajganj, Patuakhali, Rangamati, Bandarban, Lakshmipur, and Feni, as well as the entire Khulna division. This condition is expected to persist for the next few days, while day and night temperatures elsewhere in the country are likely to remain largely unchanged. Over the past 24 hours, the country’s highest temperature was recorded in Rajshahi at 37.8°C, significantly increasing public discomfort.

Meanwhile, northern districts are already witnessing rainfall, with the highest precipitation recorded in Tetulia, Panchagarh, at 26 mm in the last 24 hours. Weather experts noted that due to high humidity levels, the sensation of heat may feel more intense. However, the heavy rains in Rangpur and Sylhet divisions are expected to provide some relief by slightly lowering local temperatures. While scattered rain is possible in central regions, including Dhaka, moisture-induced discomfort is likely to prevail.
