The warning, signed by meteorologist Md. Tariful Newaz Kabir, has advised river ports in Sylhet to hoist Cautionary Signal No. 1. In addition to the high-speed winds, there is a strong probability of rain and lightning in the affected areas.

Temperature and Regional Outlook: The BMD's latest bulletin highlights several key weather shifts across the country:

  • Temperature Drop: Daytime temperatures in Rangpur, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions are expected to fall by 1°C to 3°C.

  • Stable Conditions: Temperatures in other parts of the country are likely to remain largely unchanged.

  • Precipitation: Scattered rain or thundershowers, accompanied by temporary gusty winds and lightning, are predicted for parts of Rangpur, Mymensingh, and Sylhet, as well as isolated areas in Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, and Chattogram.

  • Hailstorm Warning: There is a possibility of isolated hailstorms in some locations.

Analyzing advanced satellite data, the Meteorological Department noted that while some regions face storms, the weather in the rest of the country will remain mainly dry with partly cloudy skies. Residents in the northern and north-eastern belts are advised to remain cautious of sudden lightning strikes and falling trees during the squalls.
