Heavy Rain and Hail Forecast for Sylhet and Mymensingh Divisions

According to Meteorologist Kho. Hafizur Rahman, speaking on Saturday, March 14, 2026, the Sylhet and Mymensingh divisions are expected to experience the highest intensity of rainfall, with a significant risk of isolated hailstorms in various parts of the country.

The forecast indicates that during the next 24 hours, rain accompanied by gusty winds may occur in several areas within the Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions, as well as parts of Dhaka, Rangpur, Barishal, and Chattogram. This trend is expected to persist through Sunday and Monday, particularly in northern and eastern regions. While the intensity of the rain may slightly subside starting Tuesday, day and night temperatures are likely to fluctuate. However, the BMD warns that the severity of rainfall is expected to increase again toward the end of the five-day period.
