Thunderstorms Forecast Across Four Divisions Including Dhaka
According to the agency, while the weather remained largely dry throughout the week, a temporary shift is expected on Monday and Tuesday, bringing gusty winds and rain to the Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram divisions. During this period, daytime temperatures may fluctuate slightly. Meteorologists attribute this change to a low-pressure area currently situated over the Equatorial Indian Ocean and the adjoining Southwest Bay of Bengal, which is moving in a west-northwesterly direction. Additionally, a sub-continental high-pressure ridge is positioned over Bihar and its surrounding regions.
As per the forecast, the weather across the country will remain dry with partly cloudy skies until Sunday morning, with day and night temperatures holding steady. From Monday morning, night temperatures are expected to rise slightly, while daytime temperatures may see a minor decrease. Light rain is likely in isolated parts of the Khulna and Barishal divisions on Monday. However, the scope of the precipitation is expected to expand by Tuesday, reaching the Dhaka and Chattogram divisions. These areas may experience thunderstorms accompanied by temporary gusty winds. Outside of these rainy regions, the weather is expected to remain predominantly dry and sunny. Meteorologists view this unseasonal rain at the tail end of winter as a natural part of the seasonal transition.
