Temperatures in the northern, western, and north-western parts of the country may drop to between 8°C and 10°C.

In a bulletin released Sunday, the Met Office stated that moderate to thick fog may prevail over river basins, while light to moderate fog is expected elsewhere during the first fortnight of the month. However, there is no threat of depressions or cyclones forming in the Bay of Bengal this month.

The forecast further indicates that while day and night temperatures will gradually rise and may remain slightly above normal, the latter half of February could see one to two days of thunderstorms or hailstorms in certain areas. Overall, the country is expected to receive less rainfall than usual this month. Meanwhile, water levels in major rivers will remain normal, with daily evaporation rates estimated between 2 mm and 4 mm. Although the current minimum temperature is hovering around 10°C, citizens are advised to prepare for a renewed spell of biting cold early in the month.
