Despite a stellar performance at the GBK Hockey Stadium in Jakarta on Wednesday (April 29), the Red and Greens couldn't maintain their rhythm in the second half, allowing the higher-ranked opponents to snatch the victory.

Bangladesh got off to a flying start, dominating the first 15 minutes and taking the lead in the 8th minute through a clinical penalty corner goal by captain Arpita Paul. However, Chinese Taipei utilized their international experience to level the score in the 17th minute. The momentum shifted in the second half when Bangladesh conceded two quick goals in the 32nd and 40th minutes due to defensive lapses. Although the team fought valiantly in the final minutes, a brief injury to captain Arpita further hampered their comeback hopes. Despite the loss, this tournament marks a significant milestone for Bangladesh women’s hockey on the international stage.
