Sports to be Mandatory from Grade 4: State Minister for Sports

Following a meeting with sports journalists at the NSC on Sunday (February 22), the Minister shared his vision to revitalize the country's sports arena. He emphasized that major sports like football, cricket, and hockey, along with individual Olympic disciplines, will be prioritized to ensure success in international events like the SAFF, Asian Games, and Olympics.

Minister Haque also highlighted the government's goal to establish sports as a viable profession by bringing athletes under a structured salary framework.

To ensure accountability at the grassroots level, sports officers will be appointed in every upazila.
