Speculation within the sporting arena suggests that a positive outlook from the top leadership of the BNP may pave the way for his comeback. The BCB has maintained regular contact with the cricketer and remains optimistic about his participation in upcoming international series.

While rumors circulated on social media regarding a potential return on February 28, there is no official possibility of him arriving in the country this month. Instead, the board is working toward a goal of having him feature in the ODI series against Pakistan in the second week of March. BCB Director Asif Akbar recently confirmed during a talk show that he has personally spoken with Shakib, who expressed a keen interest in representing the nation once again. To resolve the long-standing lawsuits and legal complications facing the cricketer, the BCB is now coordinating directly with high-level government authorities.

Regarding the legal process, Asif Akbar stated that, according to information provided by Shakib’s lawyers, the case files are expected to reach the BCB by Sunday or Monday. These documents will subsequently be handed over to the government through the State Minister for Youth and Sports at the earliest possible time. Once the government addresses the underlying legal issues, the remaining obstacles to his on-field return are expected to be cleared. Cricket fans believe that Shakib’s reintegration will add a new dimension to the national team’s strength. All eyes are now on the government’s next steps in resolving the legal stalemate.
