On Sunday, at the Pokhara Covered Hall in Kathmandu, Nepal, the Bangladesh team—led by stars like Sabina Khatun and Krishna Rani Sarkar—demolished the Maldives with a staggering 14-2 victory to be crowned undefeated champions.

Bangladesh remained unstoppable from the very start of the competition. In the round-robin league format, the "Tigresses" maintained absolute dominance in every fixture. In the clinical final match against the Maldives, captain Sabina Khatun and Krishna Rani Sarkar led a relentless goal fest. Despite the fast-paced nature of futsal and the challenges of the artificial turf, the team adapted seamlessly, with Ritu Porna Chakma and Monika Chakma also contributing significantly to the scoreline. Bangladesh took a massive lead in the first half and continued their momentum into the second, eventually taking the tally to 14.

While the team had prior experience in the Asian Indoor Games futsal at home, this was their first major assignment on a South Asian stage. Earlier in the tournament, crucial victories against hosts Nepal and a formidable Indian side paved the way for this historic triumph. In recognition of their spectacular performance throughout the event, Bangladesh players also secured individual honors, including the Most Valuable Player and Top Scorer awards. After a flawless campaign, the champions are set to return home from Nepal with the inaugural trophy.
