Pakistan Not Boycotting T20 World Cup, Contrary to Recent Speculation

The report suggests that the PCB is evaluating alternative plans should they decide to withdraw from the tournament. This development follows Pakistan's formal support for Bangladesh’s security concerns. Bangladesh has hesitated to travel to India, citing the recent Mustafizur Rahman incident in the IPL—where he was released by KKR following threats from extremist groups—as proof that India may struggle to provide adequate security for the entire team. Consequently, Bangladesh has requested to play its matches in co-host Sri Lanka instead of India.

In contrast, Indian media outlet "RevSportz" presents a different narrative, claiming that Pakistan has no intention of boycotting the event, even if the ICC rejects Bangladesh’s demands. A PCB source reportedly told the outlet that there is no reason for Pakistan to skip the World Cup since they are already scheduled to play their matches in Sri Lanka. The source dismissed the rumors of a boycott as an attempt to complicate the situation. While the conflict originated from security fears following the IPL auction fallout, the ICC is yet to make a final decision on Bangladesh's proposal to shift their matches. For now, the cricketing world remains divided by these contrasting reports from Pakistani and Indian media outlets.
