The BCB has reiterated that its stance on playing in India remains unchanged. Talks were also held regarding a possible reshuffling of groups, though with the tournament less than a month away, such adjustments are considered highly complicated.

Shifting Bangladesh’s matches from India to another venue, including Sri Lanka, presents logistical and scheduling challenges. As a result, it remains uncertain whether the ICC will ultimately accommodate Bangladesh’s demands.

Amid this uncertainty, Pakistan Cricket Board’s possible response has drawn attention. According to Pakistani media reports, the PCB may consider taking a firm position if Bangladesh’s concerns are ignored. Relations between the BCB and PCB have improved in recent months, marked by several high-level meetings and bilateral series outside the FTP.

Reports suggest senior PCB officials have hinted at an unexpected move should Bangladesh’s matches remain in India. Hosting a subcontinent World Cup without both Bangladesh and Pakistan would pose a significant commercial and strategic setback for the ICC.

However, it is still unclear whether Pakistan will formally adopt such a stance.
