Rashed Khan Accuses NCP Leader Nasiruddin Patwary of "Religious Hypocrisy" and Political Exploitation
In a detailed Facebook post shared on Saturday, May 9, 2026, Khan alleged that the NCP is attempting to capitalize on the legacy of the late student leader Shahid Osman Hadi to serve its own interests. Khan pointed out a stark contradiction, claiming that while Hadi was alive, he was a vocal critic of the NCP, accusing the party of hijacking the spirit of the July Revolution, engaging in rapid corruption, and undermining the unity of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement. According to Khan, the very leaders who once avoided Hadi are now attempting to brand him as their "idol" to use as a strategic political tool.
Further intensifying his allegations, Rashed Khan criticized Patwary’s recent activities at a mosque in Narayanganj, where he reportedly arrived with a dedicated PR team for political promotion. Khan stated that gathering party activists inside a place of worship caused significant disturbance to regular worshippers and turned a religious setting into a campaign ground. He argued that such excessive politicization of martyrs and religious spaces strips these symbols of their universal appeal and respect. These remarks come amid a period of heightened tension between the two political entities, with Khan warning that using the names of fallen heroes as "trump cards" only serves to deepen divisions and dishonor the sacrifices made during the national uprising.
