Responding to reporters on Saturday, the MP asserted that those declaring they would not participate in his Janaza are primarily affiliated with Jamaat-e-Islami. He made it clear that he is not dependent on any specific political or religious group for his final rites.

Fazlur Rahman explained that while being an MP is his political identity, his spiritual beliefs are deeply rooted elsewhere. He described himself as a follower of Sufism, with unwavering faith in Allah and the Prophet (SM). He stated that he would not require members of Jamaat or Wahhabi ideologies to conduct his Janaza. The lawmaker further added that he has many followers among Peers, Awliyas, and Darveshes who share his spiritual path, ensuring there will be no shortage of people to lead or attend his funeral.

Identifying himself as a believer in the ideals of Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat, the MP addressed his critics directly, remarking that Allah could take them away even before him. His comments regarding the intersection of spiritual and political philosophy, especially in the context of recent debates over the political use of religious rites, have sparked significant discussion throughout the region. His stance is also being widely analyzed on social media, where many are discussing his distinct take on "Political Religion" versus spiritual conviction.
