Jamaat-e-Islami Initiates Special Training for Newly Elected Women MPs
The party has announced that a one-to-two-day intensive workshop or training session will be organized to familiarize the new MPs with parliamentary rules of procedure and the legislative drafting process.
Ehsanul Mahbub Zubair, Assistant Secretary General and Head of the Publicity and Media Department of Jamaat-e-Islami, stated on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, that since the elected members are new to the House, this training will be provided immediately following their oath-taking ceremony. He noted that among their members are four highly educated and qualified teachers. Despite their professional credentials, the training will focus on specific parliamentary regulations, strategies for presenting bills, point-by-point discussions, and the technicalities of which rules to apply during floor debates.
Nazmun Nahar Nilu, Secretary of the Publicity and Culture Affairs of Jamaat’s Women’s Wing, confirmed that the indoor training session is scheduled to be held next month. This development comes as the Election Commission is set to officially publish the gazette notification on Thursday, April 30, naming the 49 winners of the reserved women’s seats. Among these 49 members, 12 belong to the 11-party alliance, which includes Jamaat-e-Islami and the NCP. By initiating this preparatory training, the party aims to empower its representatives to effectively voice public demands and play a constructive role within the 13th Parliament.
