Nahid Islam Committed a ‘Moral Crime’ Despite No Direct Corruption, Claims Rashed Khan
In a detailed post shared on his verified Facebook page on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, Rashed Khan criticized the former Information Adviser for his role in the government and within his party. He noted that although Nahid Islam challenged others in Parliament to provide proof of corruption, he cannot escape responsibility for the irregularities and "lobbying business" conducted by those close to him during his tenure.
In his post, Rashed Khan pointed to the controversial activities of Nahid Islam's former PO, Atiq Morshed, and the strategic placement of individuals from his personal circle into influential positions as evidence of undue influence. He further questioned Nahid Islam’s role in appointing controversial figures as advisers, reminding the public that Nahid himself had claimed to be deceived by certain trusted associates. "As their employer, can Nahid Islam evade the liability for their actions?" Rashed Khan asked. He also publicly questioned the identities of the "wealthy individuals" providing financial backing to the NCP.
Rashed Khan expressed suspicion regarding the appointment of Sheikh Bashir Uddin as the Commerce Adviser and whether there were any financial transactions involved between him and the NCP. Furthermore, he claimed that during his time as the Information Minister, Nahid Islam failed to disclose corruption data from the past 16 years and issued licenses to two television channels under laws enacted during the Sheikh Hasina administration. Rashed Khan concluded that resigning without fulfilling promises of justice and reform was contrary to public expectations, citing these collective actions as proof of Nahid Islam’s moral failure.
