High Court Grants Bail to Former Eden College Chhatra League President Tamanna Jasmine Riva
Riva had been in custody since December 16, 2024, after being detained by the Detective Branch (DB) of police on charges related to prohibited political activities.
According to case details, Riva went into hiding after leaving the college campus during the anti-discrimination student movement in July 2024. After remaining out of the public eye for several months, she was apprehended on the night of December 16. Following a period of incarceration, her legal team moved the High Court for bail, which was granted today. The court’s ruling marks a significant development in the ongoing legal proceedings involving former leaders of the banned organization.
