The decision, reported by The Daily Telegraph on Sunday, April 5, 2026, followed a review of previous public remarks made by the scholar that were deemed derogatory toward the Jewish community. This enforcement action mirrors the recent expulsion of another popular Bangladeshi speaker, Mizanur Rahman Azhari, as Australia intensifies its scrutiny of international visitors accused of promoting divisive ideologies.

Shaykh Ahmadullah was scheduled to participate in a religious tour across several Australian cities at the invitation of the ‘Islamic Practice and Dawah Circle.’ However, controversy erupted in Sydney after video clips surfaced in which the scholar allegedly claimed that a specific religious group was the "mastermind behind all world unrest." The Australian Department of Home Affairs categorized these statements as antisemitic and a direct threat to social cohesion. Consequently, his entry permit was revoked, effectively barring him from re-entering the country or completing his scheduled engagements.

Due to the visa cancellation and the ensuing legal complications, Shaykh Ahmadullah departed Australia without attending his keynote event in Sydney. Organizers have subsequently announced the cancellation of his remaining programs in Canberra, Adelaide, and Perth. Speaking to Sky News, Assistant Minister for Immigration Matt Thistlethwaite reaffirmed the government’s zero-tolerance policy toward individuals who propagate antisemitic or Islamophobic sentiments. He emphasized that Australia remains committed to maintaining a multicultural society free from hate speech, regardless of the international profile of the speakers involved.
