31 Awami League Leaders and Activists Sent to Jail in Jamalpur
According to court sources, 27 individuals from Madarganj surrendered in connection with four separate cases, including those filed by local BNP leaders and police under anti-terrorism laws following the events of August 5. Simultaneously, four other activists from Bakshiganj faced similar bail rejections. Despite arguments from defense lawyers, the prosecution successfully opposed the bail petitions.
The detained individuals include prominent figures such as Doulatuzzaman Dulal (District AL member), Obaydur Rahman Belal (General Secretary of Madarganj AL and former Upazila Chairman), and several other leaders from the Jubo League, Volunteer League, and Chhatra League. Court Inspector Md. Abul Hossain confirmed that the accused were sent to jail immediately after the hearing.
