BNP Fears Public Mandate Like the Awami League: Mia Golam Porwar
Speaking as the chief guest at an Eid Reunion in Cox’s Bazar on Tuesday, he warned that the BNP is harming its own interests by following in the footsteps of the previous regime. He urged the party to learn from the uprising of August 5 and focus on fulfilling the people's will rather than creating new political complexities.
Porwar further claimed that "extraordinary engineering" took place in the last national election to suppress the voices of 40 million voters. He instructed his party members to prepare for the upcoming local government elections and emphasized the need for constitutional reforms within the current parliamentary session. While assuring that Jamaat would support the BNP as an opposition force if they respect public desire, he cautioned the nation against any conspiracies aimed at undermining democratic rights. The event was attended by various district-level leaders and activists.
