According to a press release issued by the party's central publicity department on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, the highlight of the events will be a tribute to the martyrs at the National Martyrs' Memorial in Savar led by Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, the Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami and the current Leader of the Opposition in the 13th Jatiya Sangsad.

The scheduled programs will begin on Wednesday, March 25, with a discussion meeting at the National Press Club in Dhaka at 3:00 PM. Dr. Shafiqur Rahman will attend the event as the chief guest, alongside other top leaders from the central and city units of the party. On Independence Day, March 26, the national flag will be formally hoisted at the party’s central office in the morning. As part of the state ceremonies, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman will then visit the National Martyrs' Memorial in Savar to place wreaths and lead a special prayer for the departed souls of those who sacrificed their lives during the 1971 Liberation War. Additionally, all levels of the organization across the country have been instructed to hold discussion meetings and prayer sessions to mark the occasion.

Since emerging as the main opposition party with 68 seats in the February 2026 general elections, Jamaat-e-Islami has stated that this year's celebrations will focus on upholding the spirit of the July Uprising and committing to building a discrimination-free Bangladesh.
