" He asserted that as the constitutional head, the President failed to take any action against the killings during the previous regime, making his presence in the sovereign Parliament unacceptable to the opposition.

The walkout occurred around 3:40 PM, shortly after the President began his speech. The Jamaat leader raised several grievances, claiming that while the opposition took their oaths seriously, the ruling party did not follow suit. He further criticized the President for failing to convene the Reform Council and alleged that his actions had insulted 70% of the country's population. He also accused the Speaker of silencing opposition voices, reminding the treasury bench that "Parliament does not belong to any single party" and that they are there to represent the will of the people.

Echoing these sentiments, Opposition Chief Whip Nahid Islam stated that the nation had ousted fascism through the supreme sacrifice of thousands of martyrs. He argued that it was an affront to those sacrifices to allow an "associate of the fascists" to address the House. Nahid claimed that the opposition had sought the floor to raise their objections, but after being denied by the Speaker, they chose to walk out in protest. This immediate confrontation sets a highly contentious tone for the 13th Parliament, highlighting a deep-seated rift over the President's legitimacy.
