BNP Files Case Against National Citizen Party Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwari

The case was initiated by Ashraful Islam, President of the Ramna Thana BNP, acting on behalf of Mirza Abbas, a member of the BNP Standing Committee and the Member of Parliament for the Dhaka-8 constituency.

The lawsuit follows a period of intense political friction between the two leaders, which peaked during the February 2026 general elections. Patwari, who contested against Mirza Abbas in the Dhaka-8 seat, has been vocal in his criticism, previously labeling Abbas as a "godfather" of criminal activity and calling for his expulsion from the party. The legal action specifically cites allegations of criminal intimidation and the use of defamatory language intended to tarnish the veteran BNP leader's reputation.
