He made these remarks as the chief guest at a prayer and Iftar gathering organized by the Ramna Thana BNP at Siddheswari Girls' School ground on Friday (March 6). During the event, which sought divine blessings for the soul of the late Prime Minister Khaleda Zia, Abbas urged his opponents to refrain from the "great sin" of lying and defamation, emphasizing the need for moral integrity in politics.

Addressing the recent election outcomes, Abbas challenged the validity of the votes received by his competitors in the Dhaka-8 constituency. He alleged that without sophisticated "election engineering" and irregularities, it would have been impossible for them to secure such numbers. Highlighting his deep roots in the area, the veteran leader asserted that he has no history of losing in his stronghold and that he can identify his voters by name. He further claimed that his supporters had to guard polling centers at night to prevent ballot stuffing, adding that he is prepared to provide evidence of electoral fraud. The gathering was attended by various local and central leaders of the BNP.
