Top Leaders of 5 Major Parties Pledge Political Harmony at Harmony Dialogue & Iftar

The pledge was made during a "Political Harmony Dialogue and Iftar" organized by Democracy International (DI) at a premier hotel in the capital on Sunday (March 1). Representatives from BNP, Jamaat-e-Islami, NCP, Gono Odhikar Parishad, and Gonosamhati Andolan attended the event.

Supported by the UK’s FCDO, the dialogue featured prominent figures including State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obayed, State Minister for Labor Nurul Haque Nur, PM’s Adviser Mahdi Amin, BNP’s Moazzem Hossain Alal, and Jamaat’s Ehsanul Mahbub Jubayer. Key recommendations included organizing regular multi-party dialogues and fostering tolerance for dissenting views among grassroots activists. Catherine Cecil, Chief of Party at DI, emphasized the importance of constructive opposition and government coordination to address civic issues.
