Jamaat Women's Wing Protests Violence Against Women and Children
During a human chain protest organized in front of the National Press Club on Saturday, February 28, 2026, leaders remarked that the current state of the nation feels like a regression into the "Dark Ages" (Jahiliyyah). They demanded exemplary punishment for those responsible for the recent wave of post-election murders and assaults reported across various regions.
Addressing the gathering, Principal Nurunnisa Siddiqa, Secretary of the Women’s Department, criticized the government’s perceived inaction. She pointed out that if justice for previous victims, such as "Achhia," had been swift and effective, children like "Tahiya" or "Amina" might not have lost their lives today. She questioned how a government responsible for 180 million people could fail to provide basic security, noting that citizens no longer feel safe even within their own homes despite the administration's "four-tier security" claims. The speakers called upon the administration to take immediate and rigorous steps to protect the dignity of women and children and restore the rule of law.
