Asif Mahmud Labels Shakib Fans' Anti-Corruption Move as 'Mob Activity'
Addressing the controversy surrounding Shakib Al Hasan’s exclusion from cricket, Asif Mahmud stated, "If preventing him from playing is considered a crime, then I accept that responsibility." He suggested that the fans' move to the ACC was a direct reaction to Shakib's absence from the field.
During the event, Asif also highlighted the NCP’s political roadmap, emphasizing that the party aims to redefine politics by focusing on solving civic issues. He noted that the party is actively engaging with the public and identifying ward-level problems in preparation for the upcoming local government elections.
The incident follows a protest on Thursday, where a group of 20 to 30 supporters of the former Awami League MP and cricketer gathered at the ACC office, chanting slogans before filing a formal complaint against Asif Mahmud.
