BNP Didn’t Win Majority Vote, Results Were Engineered: Jamaat Ameer
Speaking at an Iftar Mahfil in the capital’s Monipur High School on Wednesday (February 25), he claimed the election results were manipulated through various "tactics" and "engineering."
Dr. Rahman asserted that while 69% of the people voted for change, the results were altered by cutting off electricity and driving out Jamaat agents from polling centers. Regarding their decision to join parliament despite winning few seats, he explained that they intend to honor the votes of the people and raise their voices in the house.
While critical of the election, he praised the government’s decision to waive tax-free cars for MPs and the state-funded repatriation of migrant workers' remains. He also urged the residents of Mirpur to stop paying extortion money, promising that Jamaat would stand by them to resist such crimes.
