Porwar noted that the appointment of party figures in Dhaka North, South, Khulna, Sylhet, Narayanganj, and Gazipur undermines the spirit of the July Revolution, which aimed for a discrimination-free and democratic society. He argued that while the public expected transition to elected local governance following the 13th National Parliamentary Election, this decision creates suspicion of a conspiracy to delay local polls.
Labeling the move as "morally regressive," the Jamaat leader demanded the immediate cancellation of these appointments and urged the government to announce a schedule for City Corporation and other local government elections without delay.
