Jamaat Announces New Central Committee for 2026–2028, Parwar Reappointed as Secretary General
According to party sources, Mia Golam Parwar has been reappointed as Secretary General. The new structure includes four Nayeb-e-Ameer (Deputy Chiefs), seven Assistant Secretaries General, a 21-member Executive Council, a 59-member Majlis-e-Shura, and an 88-member Central Working Committee. The committee will serve until 2028.
The four Nayeb-e-Ameer are:
ATM Azharul Islam, Professor Mujibur Rahman, Dr. Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher, and Maulana ANM Shamsul Islam.
Seven leaders have been appointed as Assistant Secretaries General, including Maulana ATM Masum and Advocate Muazzam Hossain Helal, among others.
Emphasis on Women’s Participation
The party stated that women have been included in significant numbers—21 members in the Central Working Committee and 17 in the Majlis-e-Shura—describing it as a positive step toward greater inclusion.
Organizational Restructuring
As part of efforts to strengthen grassroots activities, the country has been reorganized into 14 organizational zones, each with a designated regional director.
The announcement of the full-fledged central committee comes nearly three months after Dr. Shafiqur Rahman was elected as Ameer on November 2 last year.
