Election Was Fair but Results Manipulated: Nahid
Speaking at a press conference at the party’s temporary office in Banglamotor on Thursday (February 19), he said the election was held through significant sacrifice but irregularities occurred during result compilation.
He added that despite concerns, his party accepted the outcome and took oath in the interest of national stability. However, he criticized the newly formed cabinet, saying it does not reflect the public’s aspirations for reform and instead represents a continuation of the old political order.
Nahid also accused the BNP of failing to honor its commitment to constitutional reform and questioned the party’s stance on anti-corruption, urging its lawmakers to clear outstanding debts before speaking against corruption.
He further alleged that the current cabinet includes individuals facing corruption allegations and financial irregularities, expressing disappointment that the first cabinet after the July uprising did not meet expectations of transparency.
