World Leaders Congratulate Tarique Rahman

The BNP won 209 seats, while the Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami secured 68 seats, placing second. With a two-thirds majority, the BNP is preparing to form the government.

India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Tarique Rahman over a phone call on February 13, expressing support for his efforts to meet the expectations of the Bangladeshi people. He also highlighted the deep historical and cultural ties between India and Bangladesh.

Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also extended congratulations, reaffirming support for democratic partnership.

Malaysia’s Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim hailed the victory as a triumph of democracy and sent his felicitations to Tarique Rahman and the BNP.

The Chinese Embassy in Dhaka extended its congratulations to both the Bangladeshi people for a successful election and the BNP.

Maldives President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu congratulated Tarique Rahman and expressed hopes for strengthening bilateral ties between the two countries.
