In the viral footage, Hafiz Ullah is seen addressing a local gathering in Kamalnagar, where he purportedly claims that voting for the 'Daripalla' (Scales) symbol—representing Islam and the Quran—guarantees a place in Jannat (Heaven), while voting against it is a "sinful act."

The video, which began circulating widely on February 8, shows the candidate further alleging that rival candidates, if elected, would indulge in extortion, tender-manipulation, and the embezzlement of development funds. "Only those standing with the Quran through the Scales can ensure a righteous path," he is heard saying in the clip. The remarks have drawn sharp criticism from civil society and opposing political camps, who argue that using religious sentiments to influence voters is a blatant violation of the Election Code of Conduct.

In response to the backlash, AR Hafiz Ullah has questioned the authenticity of the video, claiming it was an internal meeting speech that was "maliciously edited and taken out of context." He asserted that his words were twisted to damage his reputation ahead of the February 12 polls. Despite his denial, local rival candidates have formally approached the Election Commission, demanding an immediate investigation and punitive action for the use of religious intimidation in the campaign.
