"Occupation of Voting Centers Will Be Your Last Day," Warns Hasnat Abdullah
Speaking at a massive public rally at the Shahjadpur Government College grounds today, Abdullah campaigned for SM Saif Mostafiz, the candidate from the 11-party alliance for the Sirajganj-6 (Shahjadpur) constituency. Addressing the crowd, he roared that those intending to steal votes should "seek their parents' blessings" beforehand, as standing against the youth generation would mark their "final day."
Hasnat Abdullah emphasized that the current generation is determined to protect the sanctity of the ballot with their last drop of blood. He alleged that a coordinated group of foreign powers, unscrupulous businessmen, "media mafias," and "rotten" veteran politicians are actively working to prevent the youth from rising to power. He urged the local administration, including the Deputy Commissioner (DC) and Superintendent of Police (SP), to abandon their past practices of "night-time voting" and "burying the truth," calling on them to stand with the people in the February 12 polls to ensure a transparent process.
The rally, presided over by the Shahjadpur Upazila Jamaat Ameer, featured Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan, Assistant Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, as the chief guest. A notable political shift occurred during the event as over fifty leaders and activists from the Norina Union BNP formally joined Jamaat-e-Islami by shaking hands with Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan. The gathering has created a significant ripple in local politics, signaling a new polarization within the 11-party alliance as they prepare for a high-stakes showdown in Shahjadpur.
