Those Without Faith in the Country Cannot Lead Its Progress: Mirza Fakhrul
Fakhrul questioned, "How can those who do not believe in the very existence of an independent Bangladesh contribute to its development? For us, this is a matter of ethics. We believe in our sovereign nation, and those who reject this reality cannot be trusted to protect our independence."
Highlighting historical events, the BNP leader noted that Jamaat has a history of contradictory politics. He reminded the audience that during the Liberation War of 1971, while the Pakistani army committed genocide and atrocities against Bengalis, Jamaat chose to support the oppressors. He argued that a party that opposed the birth of the nation through such immense sacrifice can never be a credible force for the people.
Concluding his speech, Mirza Fakhrul urged voters to choose the 'Sheaf of Paddy' (Dhaner Sheesh) symbol in the upcoming February 12 elections to safeguard democracy and national sovereignty. He also promised to resolve the fertilizer crisis for farmers if elected to office.
