"Missiles Fired at Me for 5 Days": Jamaat Ameer
Speaking as the chief guest at a massive election rally held at the A-Team field in Naogaon on Thursday morning, February 5, 2026, he stated, “For the last five days, missiles have been fired at me. A certain group is attempting to destroy me with these strikes, but by the grace of Allah, all their efforts have failed.”
Addressing the hacking of his X (formerly Twitter) account, he mentioned that his ID was compromised to spread malicious and offensive propaganda against women. He revealed that Jamaat's cyber team identified the culprit, and police have already arrested an assistant programmer from Bangabhaban in connection with the incident. He expressed regret that some individuals who once stood shoulder-to-shoulder in street movements are now involved in such "heinous conspiracies."
Critiquing the history of financial looting in the country, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman remarked that over the past 54 years, ruling parties have changed their own fortunes rather than the people's. He pledged to recover approximately 2.8 trillion BDT (28 lakh crore) looted from banks and the stock market. Regarding Naogaon’s development, he noted that despite being a major producer of mangoes and paddy, the district lacks an agricultural university or modern storage facilities. He promised that if elected, Jamaat would establish an agricultural university, a mango processing factory, and a four-lane road in Naogaon.
The rally was presided over by District Jamaat Ameer and Naogaon-4 candidate Kh. M. Abdur Rakib. Other speakers included Barrister Shahriar Kabir and former DUCSU GS S. M. Forhad. At the conclusion of the event, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman handed over the 'Scales' (Dhandir Palla) symbol to the local candidates and urged the public to vote ‘Yes’ in the constitutional referendum and for Jamaat in the parliamentary election on February 12.
