Speaking at an election rally in Shakaiti village under Panishwar Union of Sarail Upazila on Wednesday evening, February 4, she remarked, “If anyone thinks they can sail through by riding on a party symbol, they are mistaken. This time, voters will cast their ballots based on the candidate's merit, not the symbol.”

In an apparent reference to Maulana Junaid Al Habib, the candidate of BNP’s alliance partner Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (running with the 'Sheaf of Paddy' symbol), Rumeen Farhana noted that surveys indicate 30 out of every 100 voters have decided to vote based on personal clean image and education. Addressing the voters, she said, “Development of the area is impossible without a competent guardian. Whoever you vote for must be courageous, educated, and experienced.”

Mentioning her own symbol, the ‘Duck’ (Haans), she added, “Wherever I look in Sarail-Ashuganj, I see only ducks. This mass wave will ensure our victory.” She instructed her workers to guard the polling centers on February 11 and 12 until the vote counting is complete, promising to take responsibility for protecting their lives and dignity for the next five years in return.

It is worth noting that Rumeen Farhana entered the electoral field as an independent candidate after becoming aggrieved when the BNP ceded the Brahmanbaria-2 seat to its alliance partner, Jamiat. Her 'rebel' candidacy signals a three-way contest in this constituency.
