Islami Andolan Bangladesh Unveils 30-Point Manifesto: Priority on Shariah and Reform
He stated that this manifesto is a commitment to reflect the aspirations born from the War of Independence and the July Mass Uprising in state governance.
The 30-point manifesto emphasizes a qualitative change in politics and the establishment of a welfare state free from corruption, terrorism, and misrule. Key proposals include prioritizing Shariah in state affairs and implementing the Proportional Representation (PR) system for elections. The party also pledged to nationalize all educational institutions and bring qualified Ulema, including Qawmi Madrasa graduates, under government facilities.
Significant focus has been placed on women's rights, with a promise to ensure "priority" rather than just "equal rights" for them. Other major points include breaking market syndicates to control price hikes, ensuring freedom of speech and the press, and abolishing discriminatory practices in the economy and society. The party aims to transform Bangladesh into a developed welfare state within 15 years by fostering an industrial and agricultural revolution to eliminate poverty and unemployment.
