Speaking at an election rally in Chakaria on Tuesday, Ahmed stated that those who opposed the country’s independence in 1971 are now audaciously trying to rewrite history. He remarked sarcastically that in the future, people might even hear claims that Jamaat fought for Bangladesh’s independence. He specifically condemned the Jamaat Ameer’s statement regarding the proclamation of independence, calling it a deliberate attempt to undermine the role of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman.

Ahmed further alleged that Jamaat is trying to use a "hired" freedom fighter as a political shield to establish themselves as a pro-liberation force, describing it as sheer hypocrisy. He called upon genuine freedom fighters to protest against such deception. Additionally, he criticized Jamaat’s recent stance on working women, stating that their derogatory comments and proposals to reduce women's working hours are actually a conspiracy to destroy female employment. The BNP leader urged all patriotic citizens to remain vigilant against the distortion of national history and the insults directed at the women of the country.
