Tarique Rahman to Deliver Election Speech on BTV February 9

The directive was issued on Tuesday, February 3, through a letter signed by the EC’s Public Relations Director, Md. Shariful Alam. According to the letter, Tarique Rahman will be allocated the final slot on February 9, following a specific request and application from the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).

Under the Code of Conduct for National Parliamentary Elections 2025, the EC provides registered political party chiefs with a platform to address the nation via BTV. While 51 political parties are participating in the polls, the BNP is currently the only major party to have finalized its slot. Other registered parties have been encouraged to apply, and their slots will be determined based on the order of their applications.
