People No Longer Want "Rotten" Old Politics: Jamaat Ameer
"The people of this country no longer wish to see politics centered around families or specific cliques," he said. "They want a government of the people. Insha’Allah, this time, the mandate will be for justice and the establishment of equity modeled after Madinah."
He made these remarks as the chief guest at a massive election rally organized by Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and the 11-party alliance at the historic Mymensingh Circuit House ground on Tuesday afternoon, February 3. During the event, Dr. Rahman introduced the alliance candidates for all 11 parliamentary seats in Mymensingh and several seats in Netrokona to the public.
Highlighting the pivotal role of the youth, he remarked, "The surge of support for Jamaat across Bangladesh, including Mymensingh, is driven primarily by the youth. They have sent a clear message that they are no longer with the politics of deceit or exploitation. They aren't satisfied with small concessions like unemployment benefit cards; they want a 'New Bangladesh'—the one envisioned by the heroes of the July 2024 revolution."
He described the upcoming election as a "moment of destiny" for the nation, adding, "This is not just an ordinary election; it is an election to fix the path of this nation. Our mothers, sisters, and even children want a transformation of Bangladesh."
The rally, presided over by Metropolitan Jamaat Ameer Maulana Kamrul Ahsan Emrul, was attended by top central and local leaders. The Circuit House ground and surrounding areas were packed with supporters, signaling a major show of strength for the alliance ahead of the February 12 national polls.
