In a Facebook post on Tuesday morning, she claimed that her black-and-white banners, placed in accordance with Election Commission (EC) regulations, were torn down and replaced by banners of other candidates.

"The local residents are watching exactly whose banners are now hanging in the spots where ours used to be," Dr. Jara wrote. Remaining undeterred, she announced plans to reinstall her campaign materials. "We are taking initiatives to hang new black-and-white cloth banners once again, strictly following the EC's guidelines."

Directing her message toward opposing political activists, she added, "Please abandon this culture of tearing down your opponent's banners. You talk to the people about 'honest politics'—and for that, I thank you. However, honest politics cannot be practiced alone; the grassroots workers must also be honest. Please, restrain your activists."

Dr. Tasnim Jara, who is contesting as an independent after leaving the National Citizen Party (NCP), is a prominent figure in the Dhaka-9 race. Her main rivals in the upcoming February 12 election include BNP’s Habib-un-Nabi Khan Sohel (Sheaf of Paddy) and Jamaat-e-Islami’s Kabir Ahmed (Scales). This incident has further intensified the electoral heat as the campaign enters its final stretch.
