"Jamaat’s Real Face Unveiling Before Elections": Rizvi
He made these remarks during a prayer meeting (Doa Mahfil) at the party’s central office in Nayapaltan on Tuesday afternoon, February 3.
Rizvi alleged that the recent controversy surrounding the Jamaat Ameer’s "misogynistic" remarks is being deliberately diverted by the party through new lies and debates regarding the Proclaimer of Independence.
"Those who directly assisted the Pakistani occupation forces in 1971 are now daring to create controversy about the Proclaimer of Independence, Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman," Rizvi said. "Through these pre-election statements, Jamaat’s true character and characteristics are beginning to emerge."
He further added, "You think that by muddying the waters over the Proclaimer of Independence, people will forget your insulting behavior toward women—that will never happen."
The BNP leader also mocked the party's ideological consistency, stating, "In a few days, you might even claim that Golam Azam was the Proclaimer of Independence! You never hesitate to lie for narrow political interests." He claimed that practicing politics in the name of Islam while harboring "hypocrisy" (Munafiki) is an old trait of Jamaat.
With the general election scheduled for February 12, 2026, this sharp war of words between the two long-term allies has added a new dimension to the electoral landscape.
