He expressed his outrage in a post on his verified Facebook page on Monday, February 2.

In his post, Nahid claimed that a certain faction is desperately trying to halt the progress of his electoral symbol, the 'Water Lily Bud' (Shapla Koli). He specifically mentioned that a large billboard near the Nurbagh Mosque in Ward 23 of Dhaka North City Corporation was vandalized on Sunday night. Describing the incident as "despicable," he asserted that those attempting to force him out of the race by destroying campaign materials are mistaken. He declared that the people of Badda, Vatara, and Rampura would give a fitting reply via the ballot box on the upcoming February 12 election day.

This tension follows a significant legal move by the NCP leader, who recently filed a writ petition in the High Court seeking to stay the candidacy of his primary opponent, BNP candidate Dr. M.A. Qayyum, over allegations of dual citizenship and concealment of information. As the legal battle unfolds, Nahid’s claims of physical obstruction on the campaign trail have heightened tensions among 11-party alliance activists in the area.
