Speaking as the chief guest at an election rally for Akhtar Hossain, the 11-party alliance candidate (Shapla Koli symbol), at Pirgacha Government College ground in Rangpur on Sunday night, Asif Mahmud delivered a sharp critique of major political rivals.

He criticized the nomination process of larger parties, alleging that those who speak the loudest have nominated foreign citizens and bank defaulters. "If these foreign citizens are elected, they will loot public funds, launder them abroad, and re-establish a 'Mafia Raj' in the country," he warned.

Asif also took aim at the various "cards" and allowance promises made by different parties, calling them a new form of harassment. He noted that while other parties want people to chase offices for "Farmer Cards" or "Family Cards," the Interim Government has already centralized services under the "Nagarik Seba Bangladesh" platform. He emphasized that the NCP’s goal is to ensure all citizen benefits are integrated into a single Smart NID card.

Addressing the long-standing "dynastic politics" in the Rangpur-4 constituency, Asif Mahmud noted that a culture of bribing voters with clothes (Saris and Lungis) has been fostered to keep the population dependent. "They don't want you to be self-reliant. But if the 11-party alliance comes to power, we will create employment in every household so that no one has to depend on anyone’s charity," he added.

The rally, which urged voters to support Akhtar Hossain, also featured speeches from NCP Chief Organizer Hasnat Abdullah, Jamaat-e-Islami Assistant Secretary General Maulana Abdul Halim, and other top leaders of the alliance.
