Chhatra Shibir Holds Protest March in Dhaka Against Gazipur Woman Killing
During the post-march rally, Shibir President Sibgatullah alleged that a specific political party has resumed a culture of violence and repression against women following the July Revolution. He further claimed that certain quarters are orchestrating conspiracies and cyber-attacks after sensing Shibir’s certain victory in the upcoming student union elections.
DUCSU VP Sadiq Kayem, who also spoke at the rally, remarked that just as the Chhatra League failed to hold onto power by attacking women, the current "mafia system" will also collapse. Referring to the 13th National Parliamentary Election scheduled for February 12, President Sibgatullah asserted that the public would show a "red card" to extortionists and terrorists through a ballot revolution. The speakers demanded swift justice for the Gazipur incident and called for maintaining a healthy political environment on educational campuses across the country.
