Expelled but Unfazed: BNP Leader Celebrates Ouster by Distributing Sweets
The central BNP office had earlier issued a press release on January 27, expelling several local leaders, including Tajul, for allegedly violating party discipline and engaging in anti-organizational activities. Despite his 35-year tenure with the party, Tajul claimed he received no prior show-cause notice regarding his expulsion.
Reflecting on his political journey, Tajul noted that even during the Awami League regime, he was the sole BNP leader to win a chairmanship in the upazila by a landslide. "Public love outweighs any party title for me," he remarked, adding that the news of his expulsion has not demoralized him but instead inspired him to serve the people independently. Having climbed the ranks from Chhatra Dal to the central volunteer wing, Tajul's "sweet" response to a political setback has become a hot topic in local politics.
