He made these remarks on Wednesday afternoon at a joint rally organized by BNP and Gono Odhikar Parishad at Alipur Secondary School ground in Dashmina.

Nur alleged that on Tuesday, supporters of independent candidate Hasan Mamun obstructed his procession and attacked his workers in the Bakulbariia Union of Galachipa. He claimed the tension flared up even in the presence of the police.

Clarifying the electoral equation, Nur mentioned that BNP does not have a separate candidate in this seat and has officially extended its support to him. Highlighting the leadership of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, he noted that development in the area would be hindered if the alliance candidate fails to win.

Addressing independent candidate Hasan Mamun, Nur said that votes cannot be secured through threats and intimidation. He also warned that violating the electoral code of conduct could lead to the cancellation of candidacy. This bold statement by Nur, delivered before a large crowd, has sparked fresh discussions in the local political arena.
